I was lucky enough to be invited to the 100th birthday party of Bibendum (the name of the Michelin man) in Claremont Ferrand, France. I collect everything from enamel signs to egg cups!
After 3 memorable trips to Japan, I now have several kimonos and other Japanese clothes, and 11 original Japanese prints.
Probably because of my degree in Geography! I love planning and navigating on long journeys, especially through Europe.
I write semi-compulsively, whether for publication or not. (I have an unpublished children’s book, for instance.) A stickler for correct grammar, I’ve worked for Rent-a-Writer, and am a member of the Apostrophe Protection Society.
Over the years I’ve appeared in several TV and radio shows. The most memorable was featuring in ‘The Life Swap’, the first reality TV series. On a more serious note I’ve appeared in discussion programmes about children with problem behaviour, prisons, and home education.
I’ve always enjoyed art exhibitions of all kinds, including the Venice Biennale, but in particular I love the art of the Italian Renaissance.
